The Disordered Cosmos book tour, playlist and more!
We are one week out from the release whoa whoa
Dear Party People,
A few items in this update: book tour dates, A BOOK PLAYLIST, a book giveaway and news about other writing items.
Book Tour!
I can’t believe that The Disordered Cosmos will be in your hands in just one week. That means, it’s time for a VIRTUAL bookstore tour!! You can attend every event!! It’s like a roving talk show. All events are free or ask for a $1 charitable donation to charities of my choosing (Loyalty) — but please if you can afford to, buy a book from the stores whose events you attend. Buy early birthday and holiday gifts, for example! As a reminder, you can always get the most up to date tour information at the book’s website.
First of all, you can hear me on Ebro in the Morning tomorrow on HOT97 at 9 AM!
Dates, times (note time zones!), and sign up links which I WOULD LOVE FOR YOU TO SHARE FAR AND WIDE:
3/9 @ 6 PM ET Harvard Book Store and Harvard Division of Science with Kiese Laymon (Cambridge, MA)
3/10 @ 6:30 PM PT Skylight Books with Charles Yu (Los Angeles, CA)
3/11 @ 8 PM ET Loyalty Books with Camonghne Felix (Maryland/DC)
3/16 @ 7:30 PM ET Charis Books with Imani Perry (Decatur, GA)
3/17 @ 5 PM PT Powell’s City of Books with Elissa Washuta (Portland, OR)
There will also be non-bookstore events later in the month and in April at University of New Hampshire (3/31), the Commonwealth Club of California (4/6), and Town Hall Seattle. More details on those events will be forthcoming message.
Feel free to share the following on your social media:

Book Giveaway and New Writing
Would you or a friend like to enter to win a free copy of The Disordered Cosmos? Check out this Instagram giveaway. Winners will be announced this Sunday March 7. Vanguard STEM is also giving copies away every week of March.
In other news, check out my new co-authored op-ed about why JWST should be renamed Harriet Tubman Space Telescope. Keep an eye out for a very personal piece on March 17 at Catapult, where I write about what it means to mentor in a broken physics community. I also have work forthcoming in American Scientist about what exactly the axion is in Scientific American about using cosmic probes to learn more about dark matter.
In general, I want to say thank you to everyone who has supported my book, whether by asking your local library to order it, ordering a copy for yourself, and/or signal boosting on social media. Like me, the book is a weirdo, and weirdos need love too.
xo,
Chanda
